Blissed Out!

I'm just back from doing my 200 hour yoga teacher training in the Baja, Mexico.  It was amazing!  Now that I am back I am looking forward to teaching yoga along with art and mosaic.  At some point in the future I hope to combine these by offering yoga / art retreats.  Keep posted for more information on that.  In the meantime I have mosaic classes starting again in April at the Thunderbird community centre, Tuesdays April 3 from 6 - 9 pm for 7 weeks and Coal Harbour Community Centre Thursdays April 19 1:30 - 3:30 pm (adults) for 8 weeks and kids from 3:45 to 5:15pm.  Call the community centre closest to you to register.  Thunderbird CC: 604-718-1818 and Coal Harbour CC: 604-718-8222

I have been busy in the studio making handpainted canvas bags recently.  Each side of the bag is different and they have a painted pocket inside that may have a secret message written on it.  Here is a sample of what they look like....

Time between projects

Lately I have been working on some smaller mixed media pieces. These are done of recycled plywood bits with pages from Shakespeare, a bit of paint, some drawings in ink then coated with resin. My theme for this work was inspired by some of the yoga poses I do everyday. If you are a yogi you'll get it, otherwise they are just insects and birds. Anyway here are some photos.

Thunderbird Mural Celebration!

Thunderbird Community Mural

The mural installation will begin on Thursday, August 25th. Here is a photo of the completed mural. It will be installed as a tryptych with 4" of space between the 3 panels. Thanks to everyone who came to the workshops!

Coal Harbour "Ocean" bench installation complete

The bench and planters at the Coal Harbour Community Centre are finally complete. Thanks to everyone who participated in the project.
