New Project Starting at Killarney CC September 22

Join me in another mosaic project at Killarney Community Centre. Workshops will be held in room 202 tuesdays from 3 to 6pm. For this new project we will be creating mosaic words of the Olympic values to installed in the new ice rink lobby around the sport silhouettes that we did last winter. See you there!!

Killarney mosaic celebration

Please join us to celebrate the completion of the Killarney "Community Values" mosaic project on Wednesday September 16 @ 3:30pm.

This project has had a great response from the community. There are lots of talented little mosaic artists in the area. The celebration will take place sometime in September. The date has not yet been confirmed but I will keep you posted.

Tupper Installation starts Monday

Tinga greenway mosaic seating cubes are going to be installed soon. Starting Monday June 8 we will hopefully begin with the concrete pads. All volunteers welcome! We will be grouting and finishing at 2pm in the Tupper Secondary School ceramics room then at some point in the late afternoon move outside to the greenway and start digging for the bases. Kits winter sport mosaic installed!!

The panels are now installed on the outside wall of the Kits ice rink. Go take a look. A very special thanks to Joan, Terry and Olin who helped with the installation. The celebration is on June 12 at 12:30 pm at the new mosaic wall. Everyone welcome. Thanks to all the participants on this project. It was a lot of fun and a big success!

Moberly Arts Centre workshops now on Wednesdays

Community workshops are now being held at the Moberly Arts Centre on Wednesdays from 1 to 3:30pm. All are welcome!! Moberly is at 7646 Prince Albert Street, (1 block East of Fraser at 60th)

Kits winter sport mosaic under way

Workshops are every Tuesday from 3:30 to 6:30pm in the hobby room at Kitsilano Community Centre. Everyone is welcome. Feel free to drop in anytime. There are 6 more panels to complete. When completed this project will be installed on the exterior wall of the Kits Ice Rink.

Tupper Mosaic switched to Mondays

The workshops for the TINGA / Tupper Secondary School mosaic project are now being held on Mondays from 3:30pm to 7pm. They are still in the ceramics room #107. Come on out and participate in this community public art project and create a lasting legacy while getting to know your neighbours.

This is a new project at Moberly Arts Centre. These are some student drawings for the mural we have started. I am currently working with grade 6 students at Trudeau Elementary School. Community workshops will be starting soon. Keep posted.

Tupper Mosaic well underway!

We had our first community workshop yesterday which was a big success. It was busy! I took a bunch of photos of the works in progress which you can see here. The next community workhshop will be this Saturday from 1 to 4pm at Tupper Secondary School in the ceramics room. Due to school security people are required to sign in at 1pm at the main entrance. The doors will be locked after that. Keep posted for workshop updates and new photos as the project progresses.

Community workshops are starting Tuesday March 3 from 3:30 to 6:30 at Tupper Secondary School. Drop ins are welcome at any time and all workshops are free. There will be signs up to find the room but it is in the lower ceramics room.

new projects starting soon

I am currently scheduling 3 new community mosaic projects.
Kitsilano Community Centre, Tupper Secondary School and Moberly Arts Centre.

So far Kitsilano CC is scheduled to start on March 17. Workshops will be held in the hobby room from 3:30pm to 6:30 pm. Everyone is welcome. Project is free to all ages and all supplies will be provided. Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult.

The Tupper project will begin near the end of February. Check back for updates on the days and times. Tupper Secondary School is located at 419 East 24th Avenue.

The project at Moberly Arts Centre will also start sometime in March.
